I recently had the best experience at Quinta Da Barroca in the heart of the Douro region. The staff was professional and attentive, and the director, Paulo, personally welcomed me and shared the property's wonderful story. The dinners in the restaurant were delicious, and I even had the chance to visit a domaine with a lovely staff member. The grounds are spectacular with breathtaking views, and I enjoyed a refreshing swim in the fabulous pool. a perfect place to spend a few days surrounded by vineyards, great products, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Our stay in Quinta da Barroca was a success. The staff is really very friendly and helpful (as a lot of the porteguese people), the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, the facilities were a positive surprise to us, everything was there: swimming pool inside and outside, tennis court, bar (american pool), little terraces and places to sit everywhere. The children had a very good time. The whole domain is extremely clean and well maintained. At night they offer dinner which we very much enjoyed. Breakfast was very good as well. In short, it was a very nice place to stay.
The location is nice and quiet but you don't have a direct view on the Douro river. In addition some suggestions (details really): the one thing we missed at breakfast , dinner and in the bar was some music, it was always very quiet. Rooms are darkly furnished but I guess that's a matter of taste. The bathroom seems quite cold totally in white.

The check-in was one of the best experiences we've had - the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and had a private area for the third adult, which we really appreciated. the surrounding nature and pool created a truly relaxing atmosphere. We also loved trying the fresh juices at breakfast while enjoying the view of the vineyards. Highly recommend this peaceful and rejuvenating retreat. Cons: Can't fault this property in any way. 😉.
